Aurora was the first to approach Kevin at Lougheed Mall. She was flirty and goofy, and full of spunk!
After spending endless nights of snuggling, nature walks, sushi, watching documentaries and collecting their own mini zoo of animals (3 dogs, 2 chinchillas, a rat, and a tarantula), Kevin decided he was going to propose.
Aurora was having one of those terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad days, but Kevin being ever-so-thoughtful reminded her to bring a change of clothes because it was going to be a hot day… and then sent her off to work.
When she arrived at the skytrain after work, Kevin was waiting there with a bunch of roses. A super loving gesture she thought, just ‘to cheer her up’. After making a stop at the grocery store, and on the walk home through the forest, Aurora noticed Kevin had stopped. She turned around and saw him on one knee!
After she of course said yes, Aurora realized the part she was the happiest about was the fact that Kevin had told her to change out of her uniform…. because no one wants to be proposed to in khaki pants!
For their engagement session, we decided on sticking close to home, and brought along one of their dogs, Frank Sinatra, who was even wearing a bow tie.
We headed to the base of Burnaby Mountain and walked the Pipeline Trail. As dusk approached, I asked them if they’d be up for a bit more of an adventure.
We jumped in my Modo, and drove up to the top of Burnaby Mountain, where we caught that typical Pacific North West sunset that we’re so blessed to see on a continuous basis.
Thank you Aurora & Kevin for such a fun evening full of endearing awkwardness, laughter and beauty. You were amazing to photograph, and I can’t wait for you fall wedding!
