Not going to lie… this was my first maternity session with two mom-to-be’s, and I am pretty excited to share these photos with you!
Sara (AKA Tatum by her friends) contacted me a couple months ago and said she and her wife were expecting a baby in October and they wanted some warm, soft maternity photos in tall grass.
Well, the best place for that in the Vancouver Lower Mainland for that is (hands down) Burnaby Lake Park! We scheduled the shoot for the evening, and I was super excited to get some great golden hour shots! However, on the day of the shoot, the sky was grey, all day and I was worried we’d have to reschedule (again! we’d already postponed because of bad weather)… but right before the shoot, the clouds broke! And we got some amazing, beautiful shots.
Before my session with Amy & Tatum, I was completing my routine of scouring Pinterest for pose ideas, and my biggest disappointment was that no matter what I searched for… ‘two moms maternity’ ‘lesbian maternity’ ‘two moms pregnant’ etc. etc. the photos were quite poor quality. But at the same time I got excited because I knew that I could nail this photo session out of the park, and show the world that “two mom maternity” photos can be just as gorgeous as a mom and dad maternity session.
I want to thank Amy & Sara for trusting me to capture this special time in their lives! I had a lot of fun with you, and I can’t wait to meet your little when he or she arrives.
