The pandemic changed a lot of plans for most couples who wanted to tie the knot. This is why after a series of replanning, Brittany and Ben decided to get married intimately with just their family. A decision that made their celebration more awesome, as seen through our Thunder Bay wedding photography at Silver Islet.
Their special day happened at a family friend’s “camp” (if you don’t live in Northern Ontario, this is more or less like a cottage or cabin) on Silver Islet. It used to be a mining area turned into a cozy place with a picturesque view, perfect for the relaxing vibe that the couple wanted. Their charming outdoor ceremony in the early afternoon that occurred under a huge tree was such a sight to witness. It was also great to see their dog be the ring bearer and be included in all the family portraits.
Brittany and Ben’s reception in Silver Islet included afternoon hangouts with everyone and a homey dinner with their immediate family. They DIY’d all the food, which made it even more special. We were so stoked to be a part of a very chill and fun reception with a simple BBQ and drinks for everyone. Being 36 weeks pregnant during that time, having this as my last wedding to shoot before the baby arrived, was such a breath of fresh air. Not to mention how epic their sunset photos were! The colour-painted sky perfectly matched their scenic view fit for adventure seekers.
Another moment we had fun capturing was their intimate first dance as the sun went down and the twinkling bistro lights illuminated their grass-covered dancing area. Also, their campfire moments were amazing. The couple’s laidback celebration of love was such an exceptional experience.
