Dave and Linda’s wedding day was such a memorable experience. Not only because of how stoked everyone was to witness the couple tie the knot, but also because of how uniquely special it was. From their Thunder Bay wedding photography session down to their reception, everything had a subtle touch of uniqueness to it. The couple wanted their marriage celebration to be a fun and relaxing day where everyone could laugh and have a good time as they were united in love, which they sure did!
They had a pretty chill ceremony wherein Marsha Reinnika officiated their secular ceremony inside Urban Abbey, a reclaimed Anglican Church. Their ceremony was short and simple. Still, it was perfect as everyone was genuinely delighted to witness their union in the most authentic way possible. The couple had an incredible ceremony exit because their recessional involved no flower petals or rice throwing – it had a fun bubble exit instead. After that, we proceeded to take their wedding portraits with their family and friends at Waverly Park and Hillcrest Park.
The newly married couple, together with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, went to On Deck for some “dive bar” photos before proceeding to the reception. We enjoyed capturing their casual and intimate moments. This in-between time, where the couple went for drinks, snacks, and some table football game with their closest friends, shows their laid-back personality we admire so much.
Nonetheless, they still had one of the liveliest traditional receptions with their family and loved ones at the Italian Cultural Centre. Everyone in the room was all smiles and laughter as each of the people close to their hearts shared their story of love. From what we’ve heard, it is not surprising how this couple had this ingenious idea of having a “wedding steak” instead of a cake, as this fits their personality so much more. Their tomahawk steak from Apple Chipotle looked delicious as a substitute for a cake. It was a definite hit for the couple and their guests!
We hope Dave and Linda’s Thunder Bay wedding photography portrayal inspired you to plan your special day in a way that shows who you are as a couple. Feel free to browse through some of the couples we had the pleasure to work with to get more inspiration.
