The weather during the first weeks of September are always so perfect, and Amy + Dean’s Wedding at Hart House Restaurant in Burnaby, BC was no exception.

I met Amy + Dean at their friends Taralyn + David’s wedding the summer before. This group of friends was a riot to work with, so I was super stoked about being part of this wedding and hanging out with the same group of friends again.

Amy and her girls rented an Airbnb house close to the wedding venue. This was the perfect location with so much room for everyone to get ready (way better than a little hotel room). Once they were ready, we all walked along the Burnaby Lake boardwalk to meet Dean for the first look.

Amy + Dean are full of so much infectious laughter, and you can tell that they are truly best friends. The second that they saw each other for the first time, they exploded in smiles and laughter. My favourite quote of the whole day was right after the first look, and Amy said to Dean, “Look at my boobs in this dress!!”

We didn’t have to go far from Hart House to find some beautiful backdrops for the wedding party photos. (Wedding Tip: To help you achieve a stress-free day… stay close to your venue, walk if you can, and do your photos before the ceremony.)

The ceremony began in the late afternoon, which, in September, has the most beautiful lighting for an outdoor wedding. Because we did a First Look and all the wedding party photos before the ceremony, Amy + Dean time to hang out with friends and family during cocktail hour and enjoy all the lawn games.

After dinner, we snuck out to grab a sunset photo just before all their speeches, first dance and one amazing party! (Dean’s mom sure knows how to get a party started!!)
